Yesterday's food

I must give major props to my friend Debbie.  Yesterday she had a bunco party at her house and the food looked and smelled amazing!  She had a creamed spinach wrapped in Pillsbury dough.  She even floured her dough with an oat flour that she ground herself! She also made stuffed bell peppers, hot bean dip(amazing), and corn and quinoa salad.  Everything looked so delicious!  I was really kicking myself for being on this Fast Track diet! Watching her in the kitchen made me realize a few things.  1. I NEED a Vitamix and 2. I really felt like an inadequate cook.  All of her delicious items were completely vegetarian and made with the Vitamix.  I can not wait for next Monday I am going to Debbie's and I hope she'll make me a delicious feast!  Well, I guess I will help since I want to know how she does it!
It definitely was a rough weekend to get through in the food department.  There was a party Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that I mucked through.  It was literally hour by hour.  But I made it without a cheat, unless you count licking your fingers of the crumbs from your daughter's grilled cheese (I don't but it is a bit pathetic), and this morning I was 6.6 pounds lighter.  Cheers to me!
Tonight's dinner was fantastic.  I grilled some tilapia with Trader Joe's Lemon Pepper (and I always think of my cousin Katie when I use it), grilled asparagus, cucumbers, and some homemade artichoke tapenade.  Oh so delicious especially with my daily allotted glass of red wine!  Cheers again.
This afternoon I woke Coco (my daughter) up from her nap and boy was she mad.  She informed me that I shouldn't wake her up because she was not done sleeping!  I felt horrible but once we arrived at her aunts' volleyball games she was thrilled to play with all the kids.  My guilt subsided, a bit.
Enjoy your evening.

So far today it is a lazy, cranky day.  I must get the little one on a bedtime schedule.  On the upside she ran around the house riding her donkey with wings.  They flew also.
We are trying to get ready and head over to my sister's house to get ready for a "Girls' Night Out" jewelry party but it is slow process.  I am trying to plan a delicious menu for tonight but I keep getting frustrated because none of it is on my Fast Track!  I really just want to take a break from it BUT that is my perpetual downfall, "the break."  Just as Ross and Rachel's break ended their relationship, any break I take always ends my relationship with my diet.  I don't understand, it's just a break!!!
This stunning picture of me was taken yesterday after my daughter "made me beautiful."  Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.  I think there may be a promising career for my little Coco fairy!  LOL I look...
After a cabbage worm massacre in the garden we are finally ready to go.  If only I can get Coco to cooperate and get dressed but all she says is "five more minutes, Mommie!"

My sister-in-law (www.forgettheflour.blogspot.com) has inspired me to start my own blog.  This blog will be my outlet to help balance the chaos in my life and chuckle at my daughter's antics.  I am a stay-at-home mom, who goes to school and sells Pampered Chef.
I have recently started a 14- Fast Track cleanse.  It is by Jorge Cruz, author of the Belly Fat Cure and Belly Fat Cure Fast Track.  I really enjoyed Cruz's book the Belly Fat Cure and lost 19 pounds with it.  But with deliciously, fattening food and laziness I put it back on again (plus some!).  Today is day four and as of this morning I am down 3.6 pounds and not starving like I thought I would be.  Since I had Chemistry class today my lunch was pushed to 3:30pm.  Therefore I am not as hungry for dinner as usual.  I made myself a little snack: hard-boiled egg (on the menu), cucumbers (o.t.m.), and spicy hummus, which is not on the menu but contains no sugar and only 4 carbohydrates.  I am hoping to be down another pound tomorrow!  As soon as the 14-day cleanse is over I am returning to Cruz's eating plan of 15g of sugar a day and 6 servings of carbs.  I will maintain my weight loss and increase my workouts.  Wish me luck!
I am off to do my Chem homework and since our Internet provider (which will remain nameless but rhymes horizon) is not allowing the chem website to load I am off to the Coffee Bean.
      More tomorrow!
